Visual Sequencing

Client Needs:
The client’s needs are the most important part of any production. If the client doesn’t like the production, then they aren’t going to pay for it. While this isn’t the case for the presentation day videos. It is still important to do what the client wants. This can include a house style, which means when there are several videos, they all have to look like they are part of the same production. This means the same text and font throughout. This isn’t a massive part of the presentation day videos as there isn’t much text. However, the credits at the end need to be done in the font that the college use for all their advertising and promotional campaigns. The music throughout the different videos should be the same. While this won’t affect the people the videos are targeted towards as they will only ever see one of them. This is all done for the benefit of the client who has requested it.
Audience Needs:
The style of the video is there to benefit the audience just as much as the client. In this case the audience (parents) want to see their children and what their child is doing at the college. For this purpose, we are going to include as much of the students and not the college as possible. The content also should be suitable for the audience, which could be old or young. This shouldn’t be an issue, as there isn’t much that goes on at college which would be inappropriate. What it means is making sure everyone follows the safety procedures such as wearing lanyards and having hair tide up. The purpose of this is to make it appear that the whole college is very professional.
Technical considerations:
The file formats of the video are very important as they can make a video look professional or awful. It can also mean that the video might not be able to be played. The video is intended to be shown through a computer on a big screen, which will be a massive file so it is good quality. The video can be exported differently to be seen on phones and other devices, which would be a much smaller file.
