Analysis of old Videos

The video was very professional and gave a great view point of the college. The first minutes were spent focusing more on the college grounds instead of on the students that are progressing this year. While showing the campus is important, the whole point of the day is to show and celebrate the students, so I think they should be the focus of the video. There were a lot of scenic shots throughout the production, that showed not only close-ups of flowers and plans, but sometimes the students that I am assuming are progressing. 

While I think the parents and students would be impressed with how professional it looks, it doesn’t show what the students do and doesn’t focus enough of them. The clients don’t want talking heads this year because it slows down the production.  

 

The second video was focused much more on the students than the college itself which was good, however this was a bit too much on the students and not the college. When the students spoke to the camera, they seemed very forced and scripted responses a lot of the time. The content of the video wasn’t as good as the first, as some of the footage was poor. The content from the students was also poor as they didn’t know what to say, or were shy in front of the camera. 

While this might interest the parents as they will see their child, it doesn’t give a great representation of the college, and wouldn’t be able to be used in the future as the college itself doesn’t feature much in it.
